Chris has been working in custom home building and land development since he could hold up a hammer. After growing up working with his father and grandfather on many carpentry projects throughout his childhood, he joined his first carpentry crew when he was 14. After completing his first custom home with that crew he knew that building 'good homes for good people' was the path for him. He knew that he wanted to be a general contractor, so he began his education. Chris believed in working to learn not working to earn, so much of his education was on the job site, with as much formal education as he could fit around that. He first completed his Carpentry apprenticeship, and with the purpose of becoming a better overall builder he completed apprenticeships in both plumbing and electrical. He then went on to train under a world-renowned mosaic tile installer and then a European trained cabinet maker. During this time Chris completed his Civil and Construction Engineering degree in Ottawa. Around the time of completing this degree Chris heard the call of the West Coast, moving to Vancouver Island. Coming to the land of 'big wood' he joined a world class and acclaimed timber frame company, where he led the custom home division, and later worked with that team to build up the commercial division, specializing in large complex timber buildings, this team went on to win many provincial and national awards for its work and innovation. Chris rapidly became the Chief Project Manager and Lead Estimator for this company.  During this time Chris was working on his PMP (Project Management Professional) degree and his Gold Seal in construction management. Chris has a thirst for knowledge and a drive for continual improvement. He believes that creating teams to 'build the impossible' is the most fun thing in the world. Chris has spent much of his career and life building up his Construction Management and Estimating skills and creating specialty management and estimating programs. He believes that a perfectly crafted spreadsheet is almost as beautiful as a perfectly crafted piece of furniture.

Chris now lives in Cowichan Bay with his lovely wife and their four growing children. They spend their days having food fights and exploring the Cowichan Valley.
